University of Arkansas College of Engineering professor Dr. Gary Prinz has partnered with Root Elementary School music teacher Adriane Hapgood to bring to life a STEMusical program, coupling science topics with fun music.  The new collaboration aims to promote creativity, understanding, and retention of science for Root Elementary School 4th grade students, as part of a US National Science Foundation grant.

The upcoming STEMusical program will cover current 4th-grade science learning objectives such as energy, contact forces, and sound, as well as other science topics on the speed of light, Newton’s laws of motion, and gravity.  While the students work hard to cover fun music theory and song structures in Mrs. Hapgood's music class, Dr. Prinz and his students will visit and teach/demonstrate the equally fun science topics covered in the songs.

Please join us October 17th at 2pm.
