FVA has 350 spaces available for students in grades 4 - 12 during the 2018-19 school year. Current students and their siblings are guaranteed spots if they submit applications by the deadline, February 14, 2018. The remainder of the openings will be available until February 14, 2018.
Lottery - February 26
If fewer than 350 applications are received by February 14, 2018, FVA will continue accepting applications in the order that they are submitted until maximum capacity is met.
If more than 350 applications are received by February 14, 2018, a lottery will be held. Those who are not current students or siblings of current students will have their names put in a lottery to fill the remaining seats.
If a lottery is required, it will be held on February 26, 2018, and the time will be announced. It will be facilitated by the University of Arkansas.
Out-of-District: School Choice
Students who reside in Arkansas and outside of the Fayetteville Public School District may apply to attend FVA. They will need to complete a School Choice Form no later than May 1, 2018, in order to attend FVA and reside outside of the District boundaries.
If a student applies after the May 1 deadline, his/her parents may complete and submit a Petition to Transfer Form to their residential school district. If the residential school district approves the transfer, the petition is sent to the Fayetteville Public School District Board of Education for approval. Students may not enroll until approval from both school districts is confirmed.
