The FHS Performing Arts Center was full of music, energy, and recorder notes as Fayetteville Public Schools fourth graders took part in “The Orchestra Swings” with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra! 🎶🎻

Through Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program, students experienced an interactive concert where they sang, danced, and performed alongside professional musicians. With support from APO musicians, FPS music teachers, and Fayetteville High School students, our fourth graders confidently played along and became part of the orchestra experience themselves.

It was a fun filled day of music making, movement, and memorable performances for students across FPS! 💜

Second graders from Root Rocket Launch Pad traded their desks for the great outdoors when Dr. Laura Ruhl-Whittle of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Justin Keen, FPS Outdoor Education and Sustainability Specialist, led an adventurous field trip to Clarence Craft Park.
The young explorers followed the trail from their classroom straight to the creek’s edge, where science came alive under the bright spring sky.
Equipped with nets, sample jars, and plenty of curiosity, students tested the local water quality and learned how environmental scientists study the health of streams. From spotting tiny aquatic critters to recording observations like real researchers, the day was a hands-on lesson in environmental stewardship and the wonders of the natural world.
